JOCSM Brain Recovery Podcasting
It's been a big month for me. March 20-25 I went to Provo, Utah for treatment at Cognitive FX. You can read my blog posts about my experience there.
Then I went to Chicago for The Jewish Voice for Peace National Membership Meeting. Two years ago Jews of Color and Mizrahi and Sephardi Jews came together to form the JOCSM Caucus which is now an autonomous group working in partnership with JVP. The day before the national meetings started, we held a day long conference for 110 JOCSM, including honored guests from Palestine/Israel. It was a very powerful gathering, with many important conversations and exchanges of information and ideas.
Then I attended the national meetings with 1000 people. My brother Ricardo and I led two workshops on The Art of Social Justice, which went beautifully, and I was on a panel about anti-Semitism, to celebrate the release of JVP's new book On Anti-Semitism to which I am a contributor.
At the meetings a small group of us gathered to discuss our work as current or soon to be Jewish leftist podcasters, to share resources and promote our work more collectively. I'm very excited to add my own podcast to the menu of ways I reach out into the world. It's a continuation of my lifelong love affair with radio.
Since mid-February my tiny house, the Vehicle for Change, has been stationary in Northern California, I plan to stay put for awhile and catch up on my writing, delving more deeply into the water struggles of this huge state, so stay tuned.
